Physically what
makes our school a garden are the birds, fish, sandbox,
plants to pot and flowers to arrange. But more than that
is the experience of having the children's imagination
and senses - their inner garden - nourished through music,
art and sensory development. We help children grow their
natural potential through providing a warm and rich learning
environmnt that meets her devlopmental needs. Music classes
are teacher-led, group experiences. The Art Studio and
Montessori Garden are independent learning programs for
parents and care giver to use with the guidance of resource
teachers.
Parent & Caregivers are
understood to be the child's primary teacher. We recognize
that in the first three years of life one
on one attention is vital for develoing the child's
potential. Giving a child a toy to play with is one level
of learning. Having an adult respond to the child's play
through being engaged in the exploration is anoher level
of learning. If we are supporting the the child's ability
to think creatively we want to fully participate in their
learning. Extrodinary children not always those with
the highest aptitude but are those who sparkle because
their creativity faucets are open and flowing. Our classrooms
are rich with learning opportunities and the tools for
parents and caregivers to use to benefit children. |
